The Catholic Foundation of Northwest Florida

From 2005-2007, the diocese engaged in a comprehensive planning process, Sharing the Vision, which brought out the hopes and desires of the all the faithful of our diocese. The feedback, ideas, goals, and objectives that this process focused on were varied, but one theme ran throughout: we want a more vibrant church.

In order to fund this vision of a more vibrant church, the Catholic Foundation was established in 2007. The Foundation is a separately incorporated charitable foundation that is dedicated to Catholic activity in Northwest Florida. We support parishes, lay apostolates, and diocesan offices by awarding grants to innovative programs and ministries that achieve the goals set forth in the Sharing the Vision process.

The Sharing the Vision ~ Growing in Faith capital campaign provided the seed money to establish endowments. The interest and dividends from these endowments will be used to award the grants with a portion being reinvested in the principal to grow the impact over the years.

Currently, the foundation has endowments in the following areas:

-Religious Formation
-Family Life Ministry
-Youth Ministry
-Seminarian Education
-Campus Ministry
-Catholic Schools
-Adult & Young Adult Ministry
-Catholic Charities
-Ethnic Ministry
-Parish and School Campus Capital Needs and Improvements

In addition to the original endowments funded by the diocesan-wide campaign, individuals and families have created their own named endowments within the foundation to fund ministries close to their hearts, thus creating a legacy that will live in perpetuity.
