Our Mission
Your generosity strengthens the Church now and for future generations.
Sharing the Vision
At the heart of our diocesan renewal is a simple and powerful mission: to share the Good News of Jesus and to remain in Him by receiving grace through the sacraments. This is not about programs or business plans. It is about listening to the Holy Spirit and helping our parishes, schools, and ministries grow as disciples who bring Christ to others.
In his two Pastoral Letters, Bishop William Wack has painted a vision for the future based on evangelization and restored order of the sacraments.
- In Sharing the Gift, our Bishop reminds us that we each have a role to play in renewing the Church in the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee through a commitment to evangelization: inviting others to church, living our faith as an example, and serving our neighbors in need
- In Reborn, Anointed, Nourished, our Bishop explains that family catechesis is the ideal approach to sacramental preparation for children, which leads to a lifetime of continued faith formation and growth in prayer and virtue.
In practical terms, the Bishop is asking us to focus on three key areas.
- Supporting families in faith formation as we move to restoring the order of Confirmation so that the joy of our faith can be passed on to future generations.
- Building up the Saint Brendan Center for Evangelization and Spirituality, where people can grow in their faith and learn how to share it.
- Expanding ministries of mercy - serving the poor, helping the incarcerated, offering counseling, reaching out to those in need, and providing affordable housing - so that we become a clear sign of Christ's love in the world.
In our schools, we want to form young hearts for Christ by living the Gospel and showing mercy in everyday school life.
In our parishes, we are called to renew our love for the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, the heart of our faith. We also want to reach more people through faith formation for all ages and by extending the works of mercy beyond our church walls, creating communities filled with faith, hope, and love.
This vision is an invitation to everyone to live with courage, joy, and trust in God. Together, we are not just building programs. We are building the future of the Church: a Church alive in faith, strong in hope, and rich in love.
